Electric Continuity Test

Electrical Continuity TestingIn certain applications, there is a requirement for an electrical bond in the end fittings of hose assemblies, to avoid static build up taking place and building up within the length of the hose.

To avoid this problem, an electric continuity test is performed which is carried out by incorporating a conductive material within the hose that sits bonded to the fittings. A multimeter is used to determine the resistance between the two ends of an assembly, giving an accurate reading.

All measurement criteria surrounding this aspect of hose testing are in line with EN ISO 8031, Annex A, the industry standard.
